Strain Name: Mars OG
Type: Hybrid (Indica)
Looks: Medium to dark green marijuana nuggets with heavy dark spotting. Covered in rust colored pistols and blinged out with trichome coverage.
Smell: Strong and “dank!” Mars OG leaves a “scent trail” of strong pine and musk.
Taste: strong taste of sweet pine with fruity overtones.
Buzz Type: Full body, heavy in torso, slightly energetic and euphoric.
Buzz Length: Above Average to Long (1.5 to 2 hours)
Summary: Properly named due it rust/red like pistols, Mars OG is a heavy hitter. On the initial bowl, I was hit right between the eyes with a massage sensation on the temples. With a mixture of “pressure” and “tingle,” I cold literally feel the pain in my traps “melt away” (traps were really sore from a gym workout). The intensity of the buzz does creep up where around 5 minutes after completion of a bowl my body is engulfed in a soothing tingle. Although felt full body, this buzz was very cerebral.
Slightly euphoric due to the cerebral factors, I felt good. After approximately a full month of sole concentrate use, this flower got me “high.”
A nice strain for stress release, Mars OG got my eyes low and body relaxed. This was a nice evening strain and even better “just before bed” strain.
Where most “OGs” I’ve had were more Earthy in taste, Mars OG was more on the fruity side. Mars OG is very tasty for an OG; many bowls had me smacking my lips and swirling my lounge around my mouth.
As conveyed, I do enjoy the planetary strains. When I picked this up, I was surprised to realize I’ve never had Mars OG “reviewed” on my site as planetary strains hit the medical marijuana scene was quite popular in the better dispensaries a few years ago. How I missed this one…. I don’t know, but Mars OG is one planetary strain I would rotate into my medicine cabinet often.
