Screen Printing and Tile Making with FAILE

Another great video from Vice. They made a mini-documentary with Brooklyn-based artists FAILE on their permanent installation, The 104 North 7th Project. I had never heard of FAILE, but after this video and a little internet research, I found them pretty interesting.

The artists are know for their creations using appropriation and collage with the use of tiles made from all sorts of unique materials. In this video, the artists create a piece using thousands of handmade tiles designed by the artists. Each tile is individually pressed, painted, fired in a wood-burning kiln, and then shipped to the installation site. The tiles were then applied to the surface of the building by the artists and a team of helpers over several days, giving life and personality to a very plain structure.
